=520  3\$aTwenty-five years after the founding of the International Institute of Sociocriticism, a review of Costa Rican sociocritical studies expanding through educational, artistic, and political fields is here summarized. Special attention is given to the link established between this discipline and Latin American decolonial studies. Finally, under the contemporary epistemological debate work frame, this work reviews the two most crucial categories for the application of sociocritical studies: the notions of wholeness and of the system.
