=520  3\$aIn this work we try to show a geographical tour of the Spain that Cervantes portrayed through the path the pilgrims followed until their arrival to France. Opposite what is generally people thought, this is not just an ordinary description of travelling around a specific geographical space, but it is clearly subjected to the author's narrative intention in the sense that, for example, he omits passing through the most important cities at that time like Madrid and Toledo (which does not prevent him from doing the loa of this last one). We must remember that the pilgrims at the court were not very well considered then, and that to go to Rome it was not essential going through Madrid. Thus, Cervantes' main interest is to preserve the narrative thread more than the description of specific places, as we clearly study here.
