=520  3\$aThis article describes a profile ofthe literary traveler in the Pyrenees, in orderto provide an analysis that contributesto a better understanding of the readersand their activities, linked to both the promotionof reading and cultural tourism aterritory offers. To this end, a case studyhas been carried out consisting of participantobservation in three Pyrenean literaryroutes, in which a questionnaire has beendistributed to attendees. The data obtainedin this field has been contrasted with othersources, in order to arrive at a critical reflectionof the results. The study of a profileof the literary tourist in Spain is practicallynon-existent, because they are stilla minority, and the institutions that promotesuch initiatives do not usually collectdata on the users who respond to them.The observation of the routes identifiedand described in the Pyrenees leads to theconclusion that the most sustainable initiativesat this time are those that generatecultural activity around them, and create areading community
