=520  3\$aThis paper focuses on the German historical novel Deutsches Haus and its translation into Spanish, given the international success it has achieved and the historical importance of the topic it deals with: the Auschwitz trials that took place in Frankfurt in the 1960s. The aim is to determine how specialized language can be translated in the context of a literary text, more specifically a historical novel. For this purpose, the legal language present in the novel has been extracted and its translation analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively based on the techniques used. The results show an effort by the translator to translate the historical and legal context as accurately as possible, at the same time carrying out the necessary adaptations to fulfill the aesthetic purpose of the literary text. These findings do not coincide with prior investigations on similar texts and their translations, where a strong determinologization was detected.
