=520  3\$aThe article deals with Vittorio Sereni's preparation of his collection of poems Gli strumenti umani, with which he painstakingly managed to emerge from the so-called «poetic silence» in the mid-1960s. The structure of the new book, which is truly complex, suffers from the poet's determination to offer continuity to his late 1930s poetics reflected in Frontiera (1941) and Diario di Algeria (1947), and at the same time to show the evolution of his poetic art, from the initial impressionism and hermeticism towards a more eminently prosaic poetry, more existential than essential, closer to the experimentation and evolution of the poetic forms and contents of the twentieth century than to its continuity.
