=520  3\$aIn this paper we analyze the novels Año de noches (1944) and Efraín de Atenas (1950), by Máximo José Kahn, following the cognitive narratology developed by authors like Monika Fludernik and Marie-Laure Ryan. In both novels, sexual desire, religiosity and identity clash inside the mind of the main characters, fictioanlizing in this way the tensions of the author�s own complex identity.
