The distinctive feature of this book, perhaps the inevitable one, is its performativity -a term that has been recovered by the philosopher of language John Langshaw Austin in his work  How to Do Things with Words (1962)-. The performative utterances are characterized by their ability to act at the moment of expression. This aspect is highly evident in the volume of Gómez Menéndez, where word performance is demonstrated, therefore it becomes an original and anomalous writing in regard to the production of Spanish contemporary literature and its languages.
