=520  3\$aUnderstood as a cross-cultural activity, translation challenges professionals, who must bridge the gap between languages and overcome the obstacles caused by cultural barriers. The language of tourism contains a great amount of culturemes and therefore it is an excellent text typology for the study of cross-cultural communication. This paper analyses the techniques and translation strategies used to convey a series of cultural words from the domain of architecture, an outstanding tourism field. The main objective of this study is to offer new theoretical perspectives and delve into the translation problems posed by these specific words from the Spanish culture.
