=520  3\$aThis article reviews Rafael Chirbes's work as a journalist, with particular attention to the texts he authored in Ozono, a "music magazine and many other things", of which he was a founding member and regular collaborator from its creation in mid-1975 until its disappearance at the end of 1979. The analysis of the reports, interviews, articles and reviews that Chirbes published reveals many of the virtues that were later attributed to him as a novelist -rigour, independence, erudition, his own style-, and provides biographical, ideological and literary keys to understanding his career and work. This article also demonstrates the need to continue recovering texts, documents and witnesses from the past in order to evaluate recent Spanish history with equanimity.
