=520  3\$aThe article deals with the mystical experience of the Indian san Juan  Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin (apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the hill of Tepeyac,  New Spain, 1531), as referred in the Nahuatl story Nican Mopohua of Aureliano Valeriano, contemporary of Juan Diego, and lived by the soul in the poetic work, and  in particular the Cántico espiritual of St John of the Cross. The analysis of each of  these "mystical adventures" and encounters with the divine shows how his words,  concepts, spiritual journeys come together to be included. Both experiences coincide in the triple path of mysticism, the purgative, illuminative and unitive ways
