=520  3\$aIn this work is examined a passage from Góngora's Solitudes (II, 222-229), characterized by the use of an epic simile in which a "cultured garden" is evoked together with a curious hydraulic mockery. Through this "gallant comparison" the poet ponders the surprise that the pilgrim experiences when contemplating the daughters of the old fisherman, six beauties that appear unexpectedly before his eyes. The fragment is analyzed under the parameters of the simile coming from the sublime terrain of the epic; thecontributions of the commentators of the Solitudes are also recovered and the possible sources are valued (Manilius, Virgilius, Lope de Vega, Imperiale…) in which Góngora could be inspired are also valued. This detail -small but significant- allows us to reflect on the hybrid nature of the Solitudes, in which a pristine nature collides with an aristocratic garden and, from the perspective of literary gender, the garden poem with the short forms of the dedicated poetry to the villa.
