As a theoretical foundation, the development of con-cepts such as metaphorical competence is proposed before other frameworks of action, which were already present in the classroom and justified the inclusion of poetry in the language class; this is the case of literary competence. The provision of a new vision of lan-guage didactics through poetry also offers the opportunity to propose the inclusion of new voices (youth poetry) or not so new (forgotten poets). Because poetry also contains voic-es far from the traditional literary canon.
