Secondly, the syntactic analysis, which includes Schenkerian graphics, too, is complemented by recognising in this concerto semantic features, e.g. typical topics, conventions, characteristics and expressive modes of the time and by giving them Leitmotiv names. Thirdly, tempo and expression remarks (Aufführungsanweisungen) reveal the intentions of the composer.
