=520  3\$aIn this essay, I intend to examine the themes about marginality and rebellion in Tirso's work El condenado por desconfiado, a play that portrays two radically opposed bandits. I also plan to analyze who Tirso constructs and deconstructs the figure of the bandit by mainly focus on the two most important structuring components of the play: the specular play of the gaze and the constant opposition between the theatrical illusion and the Christian doctrine.
