=520  3\$aThe main point of this paper deals whit the contribution of Manuel Tamayo y Baus to the transition from the belated romantic drama to the "alta comedia" plays, which in some cases displays realistic conditions. In this article, we'll analyse the notion of "scenic realism" set up by Tamayo y Baus and study how this conception is applied to his drama: La bola de nieve, (1856). The pourpose of our research is to show how Tamayo y Baus, the same as Adelardo López de Ayala did, stablishes the foundations of the social realistic drama, which would be difused by Enrique Gaspar some years later.
