This ballad related to the ancient Carolingian epic had an extraordinary dissemination through the printing press of the Golden Age and has survived almost until the present day in the oral tradition. The first objective is to make a philological edition of the 16th century text, collating the variants of the main witnesses. The second objective is to make a contrastive analysis between the poem «Dezime vos pensamiento» (dated in the late 15th or the early 16th century) and El cautiverio de Guarinos to verify until what extent the poem is an adaptation of the ballad. The third objective is to analyze if the two branches of the modern oral tradition that have preserved the ballad (the Judeo-Spanish and the Romani tradition from the South of Andalusia) are related to the 16th century text. =538 \\$aapplication/pdf =540 \\$aLICENCIA DE USO: Los documentos a texto completo incluidos en Dialnet son de acceso libre y propiedad de sus autores y/o editores.
