=520  3\$aIn the work, the main characteristics of a comedy of historical subject  that has barely been the subject of previous research are addressed, Las mocedades  de Hernán Cortés, by Patricio de la Escosura, premiered in 1845 at the Teatro  del Príncipe and in which two remarkable characteristics: the somewhat atypical  presentation of the figure of the character of the conqueror and the dramatic elements  that come from the Lopesque comedy and that Escosura uses as a spring to  attract the public of the time. In the article the work is contextualized in its time and  in the production of its author, an analysis is made of its main dramatic elements  and contemporary reception is studied through the press of the time
