=520  3\$aThe purpose of this article is to analyse the play El chico de la última fila, by Juan Mayorga, paying special attention to the characteristics that it shares with the eastern theatre, especially concerning the symbolic use of space. Firstly, the written text is studied, focusing on those features that can be observed in the literarytext itself, such as the stage directions. Secondly, we work on a performance of the play (by the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático, directed by Beatriz Saiz and premiered in 2015), focusing on aspects such as polyscenic and symbolic space, which results in a rupture of spatial logic.
