This article presents the context of the considerations that Lezama Lima makes about the poetry of the Colombian Hernando Domínguez Camargo. First, some arguments are presented regarding two fragments of the essays «The baroque curiosity», and «Image of Latin America» where Lezama Lima deals partially about the work of the poet from New Granada. In a second moment, some features of the poetics that Lezama raises in the novel Paradiso and the relationship of that poetics with the poetry of Domínguez Camargo are exposed
