The purpose of this writing is to present Francisco Pizarro as the hero of the poem Fundación y grandezas de la muy noble y leal ciudad de Lima from Rodrigo de Valdés (1687). In the poem, Pizarro is presented as centaur, viracocha. He is the protagonist of the conquest and a vehicle for the instauration of Lima's myth as the Eden's garden where the fragrant rose is meant to be born: Saint Rose of Lima.
