In this paper the author will examine a rare edition of Don Quixote published in 1775 in Lisbon by the French booksellers Valentim Lagier and the Dubeux brothers. This edition is the only preserved copy in the world and can be found in the Hispanic Society of America, New York. Although it is referenced in a catalogue by Homero Serís, it is a Spanish edition of Quixote that has gone completely unnoticed by researchers specialized in Cervantes. Therefore, this article presents this edition to the scientific community while in parallel presents the announcement of a future fac-simile edition.
