In this study I provide some interesting data on the biography of Gabriel Téllez (Tirso de Molina), I analyze his literary pseudonym and establish biographical relations with the Count of Villamediana, both similarities and differences. I relate his work El burlador de Sevilla, especially the characters that appear in it, with the life and death of Juan de Tarsis, looking for the origin of the myth of don Juan and a reading "in code" of the work that supports the thesis maintained by Gregorio Marañón and others
