This paper aims to treat several philosophical concepts related to Love in Western tradition that Octavio Paz worked on his essays and their application to his Poetics. That is, how Octavio Paz's Love theory and Poetics have an absolute correspondence, and, eventually, how they end up being the same for the author. Then we will review these aspects through the poem "Cuerpo a la vista" (1947), that shows many elements from his Love theory, despite the fact that its publication was previous to El arco y la lira (1956) and La llama doble (1993).
