During decades,  many mythological zarzuelas were performed in which the comical element  was important. Due to this, the objective of this essay is the singing of the graciosos  in this genre of musical theatre. Here is analysed his role and his functions regarding  the music in a selection of libretos of the Baroque period. The purpose is to  make conclusions about the develop and the relevance of the gracioso in this genre
