The role of women in diplomacy has been studied, on many occasions, as secondary. It has been circumscribed to an informal performance or explained just as the management of their aristocrat patrimony while their husbands were appointed as ambassadors. However, recent studies have shown that not all the cases were as described. There were ambassadresses with a huge performance in the embassy. The aim of this paper is to show the real relevance of the wife of the ambassadors appointed for a diplomatic mission in France after the arrival of Anne of Austria to Paris
