This article approaches the transmission of Etna's topic as a symbol of love from classical literatures and its reception in Baroque literature, specifically in the poetry and theater of the crypto-Jew Antonio Enríquez Gómez. The study can be divided into two content blocks: in the first one, we analyze how the topic was forged in Greek literature and how it became stablished in Latin literature with Ovidio, Catullus and Horacio. Likewise, we analyze its transmission in the 16th century by Garcilaso de la Vega, his followers and his commentators, who were, beyond doubt, read by Baroque poets. In the second block, we analyze the reception of Etna in Enríquez Gómezʼs work, determining that his emblematic writing style corresponds exactly to the writing style of Pedro Calderón de la Barca, a playwright greatly admired by Enríquez Gómez. Finally, we emphasize that Etna is a consolidated topic in the Calderonian school and, therefore, it is worth continuing to investigate it in successive works
