    Annotation:

The Dominican Friar Diego Durán, tries, in the Libro de los ritos (1579), based on the knowledge of the language and native knowledge, an exercise in the extraction and reconfiguration of what he considered the «injured imagination» of the indigenous for their effective conversion. This exercise is approached from the application of the «rasero» Durán's Dominican mentality to the indigenous belief system, as a tool that deals to shape or equalize the negative in that system. Therefore, in this work I am interested in analyzing how, in the aforementioned book, there is, a complex process of translation from the native world to the colonial reader and the transfer of values from the Christian world to the conquered one
