                            [a] => This article aims to present the contribution of the mendicant friars (Dominicans and Franciscans) to the maintenance of the regime of truth of the Roman Church during the 13th century, regime which has been in constant construction/reconstruction since the 11th century. Taking Michel Foucault's ideas as a starting point, the text discusses the mechanisms, instances, ways and status involved in the process responsible for transforming a discourse into truth for a given society. To this, will be addressed one case: the society of the Medieval West, more specifically from the Italian peninsula region.
