This article focuses upon one of the Juan del Valle y Caviedes' burlesque «epilios». We try to place it (signed by an andalusian in Perú) in the «second chain» about the myth of Polifemo that is involved during the Baroque in Spain as result of the literary triumph of the Luis de Góngora's Fábula de Polifemo y Galatea (1612). Lastly, we illuminate, through this «romance», both the footsteps of the great poet from Cordoba as well as the keys of Quevedo in the mythological poems of the writer of Diente del Parnaso.
