This paper seeks to examine the ejrwtikoi; lovgoi, a valuable contribution to the erotic literature of Ancient Greece. This is a specific kind of discourse focusing on Eros, in general, and love, in particular. Although traces of this minor erotic genre can be found in lyric poetry, it comes fully into being in two of Platos dialogues, Symposium and Phaedrus, and is then expanded upon by various authors up until the fourth century A. D.
