    Annotation:

This article explores the complex relationship that Simone Weil (1909-1943), the French philosopher of Jewish origin, had with literature. First I consider her peculiar insistence on the responsibility of some of the French writers who, although familiar with all of her work, were particularly interested in her collaboration with the review Cahiers du Sud while she lived in Marseilles between 1940 and 1942. I then reflect on the relevance of literature in her work, due to the influence of her teacher, the philosopher Alain (Emile Chartier), who taught her to think through writing. Finally, I briefly approach her unfinished tragedy Venecia salvada (Venice saved) and her poems, alluding to her spiritual affinity with Joë Bousquet, the poet of Carcassonne.
