                            [a] => This paper deals with the problem of the aspirated f- in texts written from 1100 to 1300. We pay special attention to the preposition fata and other related terms as fasta and fasquas / fascas, which we have analyzed through the legal documents of León and the Corpus diacrónico del español (CORDE). After examining the different theories on the origin of these variants, we realized a diachronic and diatopic study that allows us to come to the conclusion that there are three different groups from the etymological point of view. In this investigation we have distinguished two types of aspiration: one of them came from the Arab and the other one from the Occitan.
