This paper analyses the different hypertextual processes performed by Alessandro Baricco in his Homer, Iliad: reduction, transfocalization and transvaluation. Through all of them, the most valuable contribution to the long continued existence of Homer's text is achieved: turning heroes into characters capable of self-conscious emotions.
