The main aim of the present research has been the differentiation of the musical element which is inserted in the universal Cervantine novel and its categorization into three main segments: an organological one, a musical segment shown in the ballad and the song genres and finally the textual references which have musical characteristics. Furthermore, the content of the dance has been dealt with as well. Due to the study and analysis done, a varied range of conclusions has been reached and they are related to both differentiated parameters and other cultural and sociological features found in Cervantine Spain, which were well-known by Cervantes. His works show his perfect knowledge of the customs and traditions of the common people at that time.
