This research is based on a tense semiotic analysis (Fontanille) to interpret the role played by Naimlap (bird man), a mythical character from a historical region of ancient Peru (8th century AD), specifically, Lambayeque. The interest for the same is for its prominence exercised to be a mediator between the deities and the community that helps livestock and domestic prosperity; In this sense, what is founded by Mircea Eliade on the sacred versus the profane is also useful. The semiotic approach will distinguish this antagonistic and conflictive relationship.
