The novel Tan cerca de la vida(2011), written by the Peruvian authorSantiago Roncagliolo, combines certain elementsof science-fiction literature withintelligent and elaborated narrative techniques.Parting from the new concept calledPerturbatory Narration, which Sabine Schlickersdevelops in "La narración perturbadora: unnuevo concepto narratológico transmedial"(2017), this article first defines the threedisturbing strategies and afterwards appliesthem on chosen passages of Roncagliolo'snovel. This analysis inquires to which extentand with which effects the strategiesare used, in addition to comparing the twoversions of the ending of the novel (2010and 2011) and the consequences that thischange originates. It is shown that the novelcombines the three disturbing strategiesregarding the content as well as the narrativesituation, which disturbs the reader toa great extent and adds a high complexityto the novel. Keywords:
