Almost all of the themes identifiedby the professionals as relevant to the migrantchild - such as identity issues, respectfor differences, social exclusion, losses, longing,grief, and hope - are present in this literarywork. We believe that this and othersimilar books, by approaching disruptive topicsand validating feelings of loss, fear, and unfamiliarity- may contribute to the creationof a more empathetic and truly interculturalsociety.
