We analyze the insults of El bandolero de Flandes that are units of meaning included in a theatrical discourse of the Golden Age and that show an offense in a situation of dialogue with the adversary, that is, they are direct insults with an appellate function. The study of this corpus compares and values the contextualized meanings of the insults used by characters from different social classes; words with a certain meaning are collected that place each individual in a specific group, that is, nobility or court in front of villains or village. These words show the codes of the society that is represented, its immediate realities and the hierarchical relationships that exist in baroque literature. It is also appreciated that the set of insults uses semantic displacements and morphological procedures that add nuances that differentiate these terms within the framework of dramaturgical genre conventions. In short, the set analyzed is part of the language typical of the baroque cultural scene
