The announcement of the beatification of Teresa de Jesús brought with it the organization of various celebrations throughout Spain. The work titled Compendio de las solemnes fiestas que en toda España se hicieron en la beatificación de N.B.M. Teresa de Jesús, written by Diego de San José, is an outstanding evidence of the enthusiasm with which the Spanish people celebrated the announcement. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how the Compendio is more than a simple news pamphlet, so that, thanks to the account of some miracles and wonders that took place during the festivities, the carmelite father builds a propaganda literary space that clearly seeks to offer an image of Teresa of Jesus close to holiness, in order to pave the way for her future canonization
