Two anthologies of the Attic Nights by Aulus Gellius, published in Argentina in 1952 and 1959, are analyzed and compared: that of José María de Cossío and that of Santiago Sentís Melendo, respectively. While the first affects the anecdotal and curious interest of Gellius' work, the second develops a legal reading. In any case, both anthologies show a renewed interest in the Attic Nights, a work that since the seventeenth century was considered as a mere compilation.
