Extensive reflection and continuous re-readings require the poems of Federico García Lorca's Gypsy Ballads and, specifically, «The Unfaithful Wife», a perfect example of intertextuality that highlights the work of recovering and updating themes and forms of popular literature by many poets in 27 Group. In this article we will focus on two aspects: on the one hand we will analyze the text as a possible case of gloss; on the other hand we will examine the theme as an original sample of continuity in the Spanish poetic tradition.
