An oral narrative recorded in 2020 evokes a case of madness supposedly induced by witchcraft that took place in the village of Capulhuac, in the state of Mexico, when the narrator's mother was a child. The story is transcribed and contextualised, and some of its folkloric-narrative motifs are studied, especially those that demonstrate the mixture of Mexican autochthonous elements and elements with Spanish and European roots.
