On the one hand, we intend demonstrate that the principles of observational sensory philosophy pervade the composition of two neoclassical dramas; La Aya, by María Rita de Barrenechea and La señorita malcriada, by Iriarte, while simultaneously they affect the realistic technique that the apply to their comedies. On the other hand, we try to clarify the extent to which  can be considered an antecedent of La señorita malcriada and if in this particular ply Iriate exceeds María Rita de Barrenechea in the successful use of dramatic resources.
