    Following Aristotle's points of view as put forth in his Poetics, poetry shares many features with myth and ritual. They are all entities build with redirected signs. Furthermore, poetry is like myth, in as much as they both are indifferent to much of the features that affect normal language. At the same time, poetry is like ritual in that it is mimetic, dramatic, analogic and magic.
