Juan de Solórzano Pereira (b. Madrid, 1575 - d. Madrid, 1655) wrote fifteen books. As a judge in the Court of Lima (1609-1627), he compiled laws, decrees and acts which formed a part of Indian Law. Throughout his books many lawyers, glossators, and commentators on ancient, medieval, modern laws are mentioned. He often refers to Greek and Latin authors, Fathers of the Church, and Medieval and Renaissance writers as well. This paper analyzes the references to Saint Augustine.
