In the present work we will focus on the study of several versions of El alcaide de Alhama ballad, which belongs to the Modern Oral Tradition, paying attention to the moments of collection and geographical dispersion. We will begin with a quickly review of the antique versions of the ballad, and then we will focus on XIX and XX century, looking for the contaminatio that may have because of other ballads.
