    In recent years we have studied the concept of intertextuality in pedagogical discipline, and its use in classes gets good results. This article offers a didactic approach in which, through a well-known Latin text, the Popol Vuh of the ancient Maya Quiche, students can recognize features in the text and on the cultural context surrounding them through the more or less direct references in other works. This example has been launched and has denoted that students are more motivated when they are able to observe similarities with their reality and understand that a recommended reading text is not an isolated work.
