    In the last decades, the eld ofacademic literacy has uncovered the possibilities of pedagogical education, reading and writing at the university and higher ed- ucation level in general (teaching for what is to be assessed), that have until recently remained unseen. However, this article argues the need for referencing pedagogy and research related to reading and writing during the academic years.This should be done within a frame of the educational anduniversity policies speci c to the countryor region where they are being proposed, and in this sense avoiding any model as a universal one. To these ends, some examples developed in the context of Argentina's academic setting of public ministry policy are presented
