The distribution of the comicalness in Mari Hernández, la gallega comes essentially from the double staging of the dramatic spaces that connote the action, revealing a fragmentary distribution that shows, on the one hand, the recourse to rustic comic, on the other the constant presence of the gracioso. This essay specifically analyzes the modalities of expression of the comicalness that characterizes Caldeira, whose character is defined in a conventional way through a systematic recourse to the most common topics of papel risible and that are expressed according to the codes of comicalness that the comedia áurea elaborated in its progressive evolution
