This paper analyses the travelogue to the United States of the Argentinean writer Eduarda Mansilla (1834-1882), Recuerdos de viaje (1882). Mansilla's book was published in an historical moment characterized by inmigration and modernity, and it makes comparisons among Argentina, Europe, and the United States from a gender perspective. Mansilla also expresses in her book her own subjectivity, creating both a map of the land and of her own memory and inner life.
